Pinellas will have new coronavirus vaccine consultations Friday

Pinellas County will open the coronavirus vaccine registry on Friday after loading more than 10,000 doses from the state, the Foundation for Healthy St. Petersburg announced.

Consultations, which are for anyone aged 65 or over who can prove residency in the state, can be booked online at PatientPortalFL.com from 3pm. They will begin on Monday at four undisclosed locations operated by county paramedics and health department officials.

Slots are expected to arrive quickly. It only took an hour for 10,000 to be reserved when they opened on January 15.

To get an appointment, it is necessary to first create an account on the portal and then select an available time. But simply creating an account does not guarantee a commitment, the foundation said.

While online registration is recommended, those without Internet access or who need help with the website can call the 24-hour call center at 844-770-8548 for guidance in English or Spanish.

Those who get an appointment must present proof of residence in Florida to receive the vaccine. This can be done with a driver’s license, deed or electricity bill, for example. Seasonal residents will be asked to provide a part-time rental agreement, the foundation said.

The location of the vaccination sites will be provided along with consultation confirmations. Those with an appointment must arrive at the scheduled time to avoid being refused.
