Piers Morgan left “Good Morning Britain” this week amid a dispute over his latest criticism of Meghan Markle, a recurring theme in his career.
But this was not the first time that the bombastic personality of television and former tabloid editor got involved in a feud, on Twitter or elsewhere.
Here is a list of the great steaks that Morgan, 55, has created over the years, Chelsea Handler and Jameela Jamil among them.
Jeremy Clarkson
Morgan and Clarkson, a former “Top Gear” student, fought for many years.
Their animosity dates back to 2002, when Morgan published photos in his Clarkson newspaper married to another woman. Clarkson pleaded with Morgan not to publish the story, to no avail, leaving Clarkson’s wife and children upset by the publicity.
The following year, Clarkson emptied a glass of water over Morgan during the last Concorde flight.
“I spilled a glass of water on his groin, so when he left, it looked like he got wet,” Clarkson admitted on television.
The following year, he fought Morgan at the British Press Awards. The fight left Clarkson with a broken finger and Morgan with a scar after being punched three times.
Jameela Jamil
On Tuesday, “The Good Place” star Jamil tweeted that Morgan’s “lie campaign” against her almost led to her suicide last year.
“I almost killed myself a year ago because of Piers Morgan’s relentless campaign of lies and hatred against me last February,” wrote Jamil, 35. “I am happy that I am still alive today for many reasons.”
As Page Six previously reported, they entered into a violent rivalry on Twitter last year over “Love Island” star Caroline Flack, who died of suicide.
“Piers using a dead woman I was friends with, as a weapon to try to create more harassment for me, since I just explained publicly that last week I felt suicidal … that’s why he is the most troubled in this industry . My criticism of a * program * did not aim at any hate for Caroline, ”she tweeted at the time.
He replied, writing: “Delighted to see that Jameela Jamil miraculously found the strength of her countless afflictions to label me an ‘attacking parasite’. This is such a valuable contribution to the #BeKind movement and I wish you the best of luck with your continued recovery from Hypocritical Twerp Syndrome. “
Janet Mock
In 2014, author and transgender activist Janet Mock appeared as a guest on “Piers Morgan Live” to discuss her memoir “Redefining Realness”.
After airing, Mock criticized Morgan on Twitter for describing her as “a boy under 18”. Is it over there tweeted angrily that Morgan needed to “pull himself together”.
Morgan sniffed back that he “had never been treated so shamefully” by a guest.
J.K. Rowling
The celebrated author is not a fan of Morgan, who she once described as a “celebrity sycophant”.
During a 2017 appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Morgan insisted that the Trump administration had not put a “Muslim ban” in place with the travel ban against seven countries.
Australian comedian Jim Jeffries, who was also a guest on the show, responded harshly by telling Morgan to “fuck”.
The author of “Harry Potter” cheerfully retweeted the exchange and wrote, “Yes, watching Piers Morgan being f *** off live on TV is * exactly * as satisfying as I ever imagined.”
Morgan replied, “That’s why I never read a single word from Harry Potter.“
“Why did you have the premonition that one day the author would burst out laughing when he saw him called by his idiots on live TV?” Rowling replied.
Chrissy Teigen
Teigen’s multi-hyphenate often questions Morgan on social media.
An exchange came out of a tweet in which Morgan reflected: “I hope people don’t make me look too perfect when I die. No sugar layers, please. “
Teigen’s husband, John Legend, replied, “You could test us out by announcing your retirement.”
Teigen insinuated himself shamelessly: “From what? Trolling is not a job (I tried). “
Morgan returned with a photo of Teigen’s own career, tweeting, “Maybe I should get a suitable job as a model?”
Teigen: “It keeps me cool and not racist so sure, try it.”
Kim Kardashian
In 2016, the reality show star shared a nude picture of her on social media.
Morgan offered to buy clothes for Kardashian, referring to financial problems involving her then husband Kanye West, which recently made the news.
“I know the old man owes $ 50 million, Kim – but this is absurd. Do you want me to buy you some clothes? ” Morgan wrote.
“Hey, @piersmorgan, never offer to buy clothes for a married woman. This is some kind of Ashley Madison shit, ”Kardashian knocked back.
Chelsea Handler
Chelsea Handler happily considered her meeting with Morgan this week.
“Some scoops get better, others just stay the same,” she recently wrote the caption for a clip from an old interview between her and Morgan that has since gone viral.
In the 2014 resurgent segment of “Piers Morgan Live,” Handler said that Morgan was a “bad interviewer” for not paying attention to what she was saying during the conversation.
While Morgan tried to turn the tables and blamed the 46-year-old comedian for not “keeping [his] attention, ”Handler fired back.
“This is not my problem,” she said. “This is your show. You have to pay attention to the guests that you have invited to your program. “
Ariana Grande
Piers’ rivalry with Grande was one of the few that ended optimistically. The “Thank U, Next” singer came to pick Morgan up in November 2018, when she accused her of using nudity to sell albums. But the duo decided they had common ground – apparently extending beyond their tax brackets – after a face-to-face meeting in February 2019.
“We bump into each other. in a restaurant. and I decided to sit down with him and we talked for a while. I think some progress has been made! Grande explained afterwards that some fans expressed disappointment at their rapprochement.
Lady Gaga
Gaga and Morgan fought in 2016 after Morgan hinted that she and Madonna lied about being survivors of sexual assault.
He also hinted that Gaga was exaggerating the PTSD claims, saying: “I know several soldiers with PTSD, it is a very serious thing. I also know people who claim to have, but clearly do not. “
Evidently, Gaga exerted some kind of influence on Morgan that few could claim: he continued to say that he regretted the PTSD tweet and also apologized to her in April 2020, after criticizing his show One World: Together at Home COVID.
Emily Ratajkowski
“Somewhere, Emmeline Pankhurst just threw up,” Morgan tweeted in 2017 of one of EmRata’s sexy photo sessions. That, after calling Ratajkowski a “global bimbo” in “Good Morning Britain” and after recycling his comment on Kardashian’s “buying clothes” for Ratajkowski in July 2016.
“Telling women what to do with their bodies and sexuality is really just classic sexism,” Ratajkowski responded to the 2017 joke. “I can have opinions about feminism and also do sexy photo shoots, thanks.” She proceeded to ignore Morgan as he continued to tweet about her five more times.
Anderson Cooper / CNN
Morgan went after Cooper after the Briton’s own program on CNN broke down, telling Politico: “Could I have done a better introduction? yea.
“Anderson is a great field reporter, but does he have a large audience on CNN, outside of a big news cycle? I don’t see any evidence of that. “
Cooper did not respond, although CNN did, issuing a statement that said: “During the two and a half years that ‘AC 360′ served as the primary for Piers Morgan’s program on CNN, it always delivered a higher rating than that Piers’ program. And during the seven months that Piers Morgan’s program led to ‘AC 360’, ‘360’ always delivered a higher rating than Piers’ program. It is sad that Piers is trying to find a new job by distorting his performance in the old one. “
Amber rose
Morgan demonstrated his ability to recycle his old pieces again in 2017, when he trotted out another reference to Parkhurst to use as a club against Amber Rose, who posted a half-naked photo promoting his SlutWalk awareness event.

Daniel Craig
Morgan beat Craig in 2018 for carrying his young daughter in a sling on his chest, which he called “papoose”. While the Bond actor didn’t respond, Captain America himself, Chris Evans, responded, rebuke, “You really have to be so unsure about your own manhood to worry about how another man carries his child.” Morgan was subsequently inundated on Twitter with pictures of cakes ranging from actor Chris Hemsworth from “Thor” to UFC fighter Alex Volkanovski carrying his children with a sling on his chest.
Emma Watson
Morgan chased Watson several times, first suggesting in a 2017 article that Watson had set a double standard for feminism in relation to an interview question she answered about Beyoncé. Watson simply posted the entire interview, showing that Morgan had interpreted his response out of context.
He went after her in 2019 for describing her maiden status as “autonomous” and again a month later for appearing dressed as a nun on a Pirelli calendar, calling her “the most virtuous actress of all time”. Watson stopped responding to him after 2017.
