The EPCOT entry experience is undergoing a makeover. In addition to the new music at the main entrance and flags with the pavilion logo, EPCOT launched a new lighting for the entrance square this evening.

The entrance lighting and the fountain lighting are interconnected. Colors propagate from one lighting system to another.

These two photos, taken about 20 minutes apart, show how the lighting changes.

Here, the posts are illuminated in white. The illumination of the fountain ring has shades of blue, purple and red.

Shortly thereafter, the lighting elements of the fountain are mostly blue.

The fountain posts can be lit independently.

The lighting effect of the fountain ring is created by lights installed in the outer ring, which also retains water.

The lighting above the bathrooms was not included in the new lighting package.

The EPCOT entrance is full of bright colors.

The flags of the pavilion fly in front of a colorful Earth spaceship.
Even at dusk, we can sometimes see the lights pulsing along the roof line of the entrance plaza.

The Earth spacecraft is also programmed for new external lighting.

The new lighting is visible just beyond the flags of the pavilion and the entrance source.

The LED lights change color as they head towards the Earth spacecraft. Sometimes they just form rainbow patterns that mimic the new font.

The lights are in sync with the lighting of the input source and the new music soundtrack. The color possibilities are almost endless.

Imagineer Zach Riddley gave more information about this new lighting package, which can be read here.
