With the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort bringing festivities to the parks later this year, Cinderella’s Castle in the Magic Kingdom is preparing to undergo an EARidescent transformation.

Blocked with bushes and prepared with scrim, Cinderella Castle is ready for its 50th anniversary renovation – as soon as the moat drainage is complete, of course.

Drainage of the moat at Castelo da Cinderela started with the damming of the eastern and western sections, and the water has receded ever since.

Birds can wade in the shallows here on the west side.

Disney’s beloved ducks are still enjoying the canals surrounding the castle.

On the east side of the castle, we find more birds wading while enjoying the shallow waters.

Looking more closely, we can see the true extent of the dam.

The pit contains a lot of water, so it may take a few days to drain completely.

As for the stage, the facade of Castelo da Cinderela was blocked with bushes for its renovation.

The stage has already been cleared of its platforms, leaving a bare canvas and a covered fence.

This morning we saw that an additional fence was installed and also covered with a screen.

According to an artistic representation, the new daytime look of Castelo da Cinderela will feature pennants and a 50-year-old coat of arms as part of its new festive look.
