Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Donald Glover star in Amazon’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith series

Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Donald Glover will star in a new Amazon Prime Video series based on the 2005 film Mr. AND MRS. SMITH. The film starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as a pair of married hired killers who are assigned to murder each other.

I’m trying to imagine what Waller-Bridge Flea bag character would do with this news and if your Mrs. Smith will make the camera appearances Flea bag was known for (please do). AND! This is not the first time that the two stars are in the same production; both were in the 2018 Disney movie Solo: a Star Wars story, he as a young man became Lando Calrissian and she as the sarcastic droid L3-37.

Glover made the announcement through a story on his Childish Gambino Instagram page, shared by Amazon Studios director Jennifer Salke. She called the pair “dream team” for the studio in a statement.

Glover and Waller-Bridge will be executive producers Mr. AND MRS. SMITH, Variety reported, and Francesca Sloane will serve as a showrunner for the series, which will be released in 2022.

Waller-Bridge created and wrote for the hit series Killing Eve based on the Luke Jennings novels, and is also a writer for the late James Bond film No time to die. Glover won praise for his FX series Atlanta, which he created and co-starred in (his last season was also postponed by the coronavirus pandemic).

Both stars did other projects with Amazon Studios; is distributed Flea bag in the USA, and the Glover musical Guava Island it was an original production from Amazon.
