Phoebe Bridgers going to Marilyn Manson’s house

“I am with everyone who introduced themselves.”

Earlier this week, actor Evan Rachel Wood, along with four women, came forward with claims that ex-fiancee Marilyn Manson “terribly abused” and “manipulated” her.

Earlier today, singer and songwriter Phoebe Bridgers appeared on Twitter to detail her own experience with Manson – specifically, when she went to his house as a teenager “with some friends”.

Bridgers released his second album, Punisher, to critical acclaim last year; she is running for four Grammys this year, including Best New Artist.

“I was a big fan,” she explained. “He referred to a room in his house as a ‘rape room’, I thought it was just his horrible frat boy sense of humor. I stopped being a fan.”

Inside a follow-up tweetBridgers claimed that “the label knew, the management knew, the band knew” and that “distancing yourself now, pretending to be shocked and horrified is fucking pathetic.”

Ever since Wood and other accusers performed, Manson’s record company, Loma Vista, and his concert agent have abandoned him. An episode of the Starz show American gods that it was set to appear has also been withdrawn.

Yesterday, Manson’s ex-wife, Dita Von Teese, released a statement stating: “The details made public do not correspond to my personal experience during our 7 years together as a couple.” She also urged “those of you who have been abused to take steps to heal and have the strength to fully realize themselves.”
