Philip Rivers of Colts ties Dan Marino with 420 TD passes in 42 yards to Zach Pascal

Philip Rivers of the Indianapolis Colts has never been the most mobile quarterback. This is OK. Sometimes, you just need to do enough to act like you are, and that’s what Rivers did in his first touchdown pass against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at Heinz Field.

The Steelers brought a blitz in the middle at the end of the second quarter, when Rivers took a step to the left, took a few steps up in his pocket and found receiver Zach Pascal for a 42-yard touchdown pass. Rivers was hit by two Steelers defenders, giving the Colts a 21-7 lead.

The touchdown pass was the 420th of Rivers’ career, which tied Dan Marino in fifth place on the all-time NFL touchdown list.
