Philadelphia policeman gets drunk, walks into the house, seriously hurts his wife, says PD Says – NBC10 Philadelphia

A Philadelphia police officer out of service, driving drunk, flew through the air, crashed into a house, arrested a woman under his car and left her seriously injured, police said.

Officer Gregory Campbell, 27, was driving in northeastern Philadelphia at about 8:20 pm on Saturday and lost control, crashing into a house on Block 2,800 on Comply Road, said Philadelphia Police Department Commissioner Danielle Outlaw .

Campbell, assigned to the department’s 14th district, assaulted the 53-year-old woman as well as a 45-year-old man and his two dogs, Outlaw said. The woman was trapped under the car and unconscious before being rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition. The man suffered injuries to his right arm, hand, hip and leg, as well as rashes on his back, the commissioner said.

“The fact that the criminal in this case is a Philadelphia police officer is terrible,” Outlaw said in a statement. “Police officers must obey a higher standard – even when they are not on duty – and I guarantee victims and the public that a thorough and thorough investigation will take place.”

Campbell is accused of aggravated assault, DUI and related offenses.

John McNesby, president of the Philadelphia Police Fraternal Order union # 5, agreed with Outlaw in sending prayers to the victims’ family. He called it an “unfortunate incident” and said the union “will continue to monitor the investigation”.
