PGA Awards 2021: The complete list of winners

“Nomadland” won the Best Film Award at the 2021 Producers Guild Awards on Wednesday, which brings it closer to winning Best Picture. The winner of the main PGA Awards has historically been a strong indicator of which film will win the Oscar for Best Picture. Since 1989, the PGA winner has matched the Oscar 21 out of 31 times. It happened in 2018 with “Green Book”, but not last year: “1917” won in the 2020 PGAs, but the Oscar for Best Film went to “Parasita”.

This year, 10 films competed for the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Best Theater Film Producer (see the complete list of nominees and winners below). Seven 2021 PGA nominees for the main award are also nominated for an Oscar for Best Film in 2021: “Judas and the Black Messiah”, “Mank”, “Minari”, “Nomadland”, “Young Promised”, “Sound of Metal ”And“ The Chicago Trial 7 ”.

One film, “The Father”, won the Best Film award without a PGA nomination, while the PGA nominated three films for its main award that did not receive an Oscar nomination: “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm”, “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom,” And “One Night in Miami. “

TV winners include “The Crown” and “The Queen’s Gambit”, all known for their frequent appearances at guild awards this season. Critic’s favorite “I May Destroy You” won a PGA nomination, despite being scorned or ineligible for other awards.

Most of the prizes were awarded on Wednesday, but the PGA distributed prizes in various categories during an event over the weekend. The Outstanding Sports Program award aims to “Defy gravity: The untold story of women’s gymnastics”, 1st season; The Extraordinary Children’s Program was for “O Poder de Nós: Um Especial da Vila Sésamo”; “Carpool Karaoke: The Series”, third season won the Exceptional Short Films Program; and “BRCvr” won the PGA Innovation Award.
