PFWA names Packers QB Aaron Rodgers his MVP 2020

GREEN BAY – Pro Football Writers of America chose Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers as their most valuable player in the NFL for 2020.

Rodgers previously received the PFWA MVP award after the 2011 and 2014 seasons, drawing him with Tom Brady for the second highest award in the history of PFWA’s MVP. The AP tribute, considered the official NFL award, will be announced the night before the Super Bowl LV.

The 16-year-old veteran defender started all 16 games this season, completing 372 of 526 passes (70.7%) for 4,299 yards and 48 touchdowns with five interceptions.

The 121.5 pass rodger score was the second best single-season mark in the league’s history, behind only his 122.5 pass in 2011. He set franchise records in a single season to pass TDs and percentage of conclusion.

He led the NFL this season in passer rank, passing TDs, completion percentage and interception percentage (0.95), the first QB to lead the NFL in all four categories since Steve Young in 1992.

Tennessee running back Derrick Henry and Los Angeles Rams defensive striker Aaron Donald were elected PFWA’s offensive and defensive players of the year, respectively.
