Petula Clark is responding after her 1964 record “Downtown” was used during the “intentional” explosion on Nashville, Tennessee, on Christmas Day, which left several companies destroyed and injured three people in their wake on Second Avenue.

In a statement to Fox News on Tuesday, Clark, 88, said he was “in shock and disbelief” at the despair seen worldwide on December 25.

“I feel the need to express my shock and disbelief at the explosion of Christmas Day in our beloved Music City,” wrote Clark, adding, “I love Nashville and its people.”

“Why this violent act – leaving so much devastation behind?” Clark pressed.
