Peter Parker will make a ‘It’s a wonderful life’ journey

Marvel is advancing at full speed with its fourth phase of movies and streaming series on the MCU. As part of that effort, they are making a third Spider-Man movie. If the rumors about the cast of this film are true, it will bring together several generations of cinematic characters from Spider-Man under one banner.

While fans can only speculate what it means now, some fans think that Peter Parker’s journey in this film will mirror another classic film figure: that of George Bailey’s It is a wonderful life.

The representation of Spider-Man in the MCU

Each film version of Spider-Man incorporated elements from the original character of Peter Parker (until In the Spider Verse Miles Morales) although they were all unique in their own way. At MCU, Spider-Man is once again a brilliant high school student.

Her version of MJ is no longer Mary Jane Watson, but a classmate named Michelle Jones. He still hasn’t met some of his most famous comic book villains: the only ones he’s faced so far are Vulture and Mysterio.

The MCU took a different approach to Spider-Man than ever before on the big screen. While other Peter Parkers in cinema inhabited their own universes, this one is just a player in a world full of superheroes. Your role as Iron Man protégé is a big part of your character.

Each villain in the first two films had a bigger problem with Tony Stark than with Spider-Man. Now that Stark is dead, it’s time for the MCU to establish Spider-Man as his own hero with his own rogue gallery.

So, what does this mean for the character going forward? This means that he has plenty of room to grow and establish himself as his own hero.

Marvel is reportedly bringing many veterans of the Spider-Man movie to its next iteration of the webslinger in the MCU. According to Newsweek, here are the actors who are supposed to return:

  • The principles behind the current version (Tom Holland and Zendaya)
  • Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprising their roles as Peter
  • Jamie Foxx as Electro
  • Alfred Molina as Dr. Octopus
  • Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson
  • Emma Watson as Gwen Stacy

Avengers: Endgame, WandaVision, and Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness everyone points to the MCU integrating the concept of a “multiverse” in its larger timeline. It seems that this film will play with that idea, incorporating characters in different iterations of the same property.

A Reddit topic recently appeared discussing the upcoming Spider-Man MCU movie and rumors of character and actor appearances that have appeared in other Spider-Man films.

“I don’t think Spider-Man MCU is going to fight them. I think mcu Peter is wanting to leave, but the strangers dr convinced him not to. He takes him on a journey through the multiverse to show him another spiderman. Worlds where they gave up, died or did not exist. ”

Another poster summarized what this means:

“So it’s a wonderful life, but with Spider-Man?”

If the rumors are true, this is a possible approach that Marvel could be taking for this version of Spider-Man. It would be an interesting way to combine all these actors in a film in a way that makes sense.

Of course, Marvel has something big for its next Spider-Man movie, and it will honor the other Spider-Man adaptations that came before it. If Marvel decides to go to It’s a wonderful life route, it can be a great way to guide the viewer through some older Spider-Man stories while relating them to the latest version.
