COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KRDO) – The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to an accident around 3:15 am on Sunday on Academy Blvd.

CSFD said that when they arrived at the location on Rebecca Lane and Academy Blvd., they found people trapped inside the car.

Firefighters and rescue workers successfully worked to free those inside and the victims were transported to hospitals in the area to treat their injuries.

UPDATE (3/14/21 10:28 AM) – Colorado Springs Police said one of the people in the red Nissan was ejected during the accident. The driver and another occupant were trapped inside. All three were later taken to hospitals in the area to treat their injuries.

The other vehicle involved was a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Jose M. Sanchez-Agundes, 18, who was arrested by Assault Vehicle and DUI. The Nissan driver suffered serious bodily injury.

The CSPD is requesting that anyone who witnessed the accident contact the police department at (719) 444-7000.
