Pennsylvania exceeds 11% fully vaccinated for coveted

More than 1.4 million Pennsylvania residents have already been fully vaccinated against covid-19, according to the latest data released on Monday.

This means that more than 11.2% of all residents – including the 20.6% under the age of 18 and not eligible for the vaccine – received both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the Johnson & Johnson single injection vaccine. When discounting those ineligible for the vaccine, this share rises to 14.1%.

These figures include data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Philadelphia Department of Health, which maintain separate records when it comes to vaccines in the state. On Monday, the state reported that 1,282,679 people received both doses, while Philadelphia reported an additional 142,952 for a total of 1,425,631.

The state began counting the new J&J vaccines among those it listed as “fully vaccinated”.

In Allegheny County, the share of all fully vaccinated residents is 11.8% (144,144); in Westmoreland County, it is 10.4% (37,962). Counting only those eligible for the shot, these numbers rise to 14.5% in Allegheny and 12.7% in Westmoreland.

has 2,970,242 Pennsylvania residents with at least one dose of vaccine (counting the state and Philadelphia numbers) – which means 29.5% of those eligible to receive the vaccines.

Pennsylvania

On Monday, the state Department of Health reported a two-day total of 3,302 new cases of covid-19, a slight increase from the previous week’s two-day report (3,176).

Of the latter cases, 2,921 cases were confirmed through PCR tests, with 381 of them listed as probable. Health officials define a probable case as one in which a patient has a positive viral antigen test or suspicious symptoms with “high-risk exposure” to someone who has been confirmed to have coronavirus.

Philadelphia led the state with the highest number of new cases in the two-day period, with 342. It was followed by Allegheny (275), Montgomery (273), Bucks (220) and Delaware (177).

Other West Pennsylvania county reports: Westmoreland (76), Butler (40), Beaver (28), Fayette (26), Lawrence (22), Washington (19), Armstrong (7), Indiana (7) and Somerset ( 6).

Hospitalization numbers have increased slightly, with 1,450 currently reported as hospitalized with covid-19. Of these, 286 are in intensive care units and 167 are on ventilators. Despite the increase, the numbers of hospitals fell by more than 15% in relation to March 1 (1,715) and 74% in relation to the first of the year (5,624).

Authorities announced 14 new covid-related deaths, all of which occurred in March. According to the state, 24,587 Pennsylvania residents have died of greed since the pandemic began last year.

To date, the state has registered 967,598 cases of covid-19, with 829,005 confirmed through PCR tests.

Allegheny County

There have been 275 new cases of covid-19 reported over the two-day period in Allegheny County, putting the total number of cases so far above the 80,000 mark. The new report is a slight decline from last week’s 278 reported, but 30% less than at this time a month ago (394).

Of the new cases, 228 were confirmed through 1,258 CRP tests, four of which were more than a week old. 47 cases were listed as probable. The dates of the positive tests ranged from February 25 to Sunday. The new cases ranged in age from 2 months to 92 years, with a median age of 36 years.

Allegheny County Health Department officials reported a new death, a person in his 40s, with a death date of March 12.

Among the new cases – 127 women, 148 men – age discrimination is:

  • Ages 0-4: 11
  • From 5 to 12 years old: 24
  • 13-18: 17 years
  • Age 19-24: 26
  • From 25 to 49 years old: 110
  • Age 50-64: 59
  • From 65 years: 28

There are 153 residents of Allegheny County currently hospitalized with covid-19. Of these, 40 are in intensive care units and 15 in ventilators. This represents a 9.4% drop since March 1st (169) and a 78% drop since January 1st (697).

Since the pandemic began last year, the county has reported 80,054 cases of covid-19, with 62,335 of these cases confirmed through PCR tests.

Westmoreland County

For the fourth consecutive day, there have been no new deaths related to greed reported in Westmoreland County. It is the longest period of this type from September 30 to October 30. 4. It is also the fifth time in the past eight days and the seventh time this month that the county has not reported new deaths.

To date, the number of deaths related to greed in Westmoreland County is 688.

There were 76 new cases of covid reported within two days, with 68 of these cases confirmed through 327 CRP tests. Eight cases were listed as probable.

There are 121 Westmoreland County residents hospitalized with covid-19. Of these, five are in intensive care units and two in ventilators. The numbers have increased by 9% since March 1 (111), but have fallen by 27.5% since January 1 (167).

To date, there have been 27,646 cases of greed in Westmoreland County, with 19,420 cases confirmed through PCR tests.
