Pennsylvania City on high alert after multiple rocket community shootings

Four people in the Pocono Mountains region of Pennsylvania were injured Monday night in a series of shootings, officials said.

The shooting was reported at A Pocono Country Place around 5 pm, Mount Pocono Mayor Michael Penn told Fox News. Several victims were found at that location, according to the Monroe County Emergency Management Office.

A second shootout was reported shortly afterwards at the Tobyhanna Shopping Center on State Route 196. The police were then dispatched to a third victim by Kings Way and the highway. A fourth victim was found shot at another location.

Investigators are working on the premise that the shootings are connected, says the Facebook post. No suspects were in custody.

The Emergency Management office asked anyone on the State Route 196 corridor between Pocono Country Place and Pocono Farms East to shelter at around 6pm and report suspicious activity.

“Due to several incidents with shootings in the area, the police are asking those on corridor 196 between Pocono Country Place and Pocono Farms East to shelter there. Report any suspicious activity,” the warning said.
