Pence asks the judge to kill the process that pressures him to interfere in the election results

Vice President Mike Pence wants nothing to do with Congressman Louie Gohmert’s (R-TX) latest attempt to give him the power to overturn the results of the 2020 elections. In a lawsuit on Thursday, Pence argued that the action the congressman, who was moved with other Republicans against the vice president, should be directed to Congress. “The plaintiffs presented an emergency motion to this Court raising a number of important legal questions about the way in which electoral votes for President should be counted,” says the Pence case. “But the lawsuit of these plaintiffs is not an adequate vehicle for addressing these issues because the plaintiffs have sued the wrong defendant.” “An action to establish that the vice president has freedom of action on the count, brought against the vice president, is a walking legal contradiction,” adds the document. Gohmert’s lawsuit alleges that a 100-year-old law dictating the Electoral College process is unconstitutional, and Pence should be able to determine which electoral votes to count.
