Peloton instructors design a new Adidas clothing line

The 11-piece line, called the adidas x Peloton SS21 collection, is priced between $ 30 and $ 85 and consists of tops, shorts and hoodies. Peloton has other branded clothing with sports companies such as Nike and Lululemon, but this is the first designed with the help of its instructors, who are quickly becoming celebrities.

Instructor Cody Rigsby wears the new Adidas collection.
Adidas (ADDDF) and Peloton (PTON) said in a press release that they worked together to “produce styles and adjustments rooted in inclusion and created with quality performance technology for high-energy exercise, plus comfort for relaxed recovery days.” Instructors Ally Love, Robin Arzón and Cody Rigsby helped design the clothes.

The sizes vary from XS to 2X and are in the masculine, feminine and unisex styles. The collection hits stores on March 25 on the company’s two websites. On the same day, Peloton is broadcasting a live class to promote the new collection on its app and equipment.

Peloton grew a lot during the pandemic, with sales of stationary bikes and treadmills rising so much that it caused a long backlog of orders. The company recently announced that it is spending $ 100 million to improve delivery times.

Clothing sales don’t make as much money as their fitness equipment, but Peloton is increasingly focusing on this as it becomes a lifestyle brand. CEO John Foley said recently that he is “building the best quality clothing in the world” and hired an Amazon executive last year to help lead him.

Sportswear has been an upward trend in recent years. Dick’s Sporting Goods (DKS) also announced this week a new men’s athleisure brand to help capitalize on the popularity of sportswear among shoppers. Other retailers, such as Target (TGT) and Kohl’s (KSS), also launched their own lines.
