A few days ago, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, as one of the captains of the NBA All-Star game, chose Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors to join his team.
Now, former Boston Celtics Paul Pierce and Kendrick Perkins are saying they would not be surprised if Curry joined James at some point in the future.
“We saw all the joy. We saw the laughter at the All-Star Game between him (Curry) and LeBron James, clapping and hitting his chest, “said Perkins in” The Jump. ” in the NBA. I’m just saying P, I don’t put anything beyond what can happen when it comes to the NBA ”
“Yes, I wouldn’t be surprised either,” replied Pierce.
“Come on you two, I don’t see Steph Curry joining LeBron and the Lakers,” replied host Rachel Nichols.
The two ex-Celtics were debating whether the Warriors should attempt to make a switch before this month’s switching deadline and whether to arrest Curry in an extension of the contract.
At first glance, it seems like an impossibility. James and Curry have been rivals, both facing off in the NBA finals for four consecutive years, from 2015 to 2018.
Curry’s team won three of those four championships, detracting from James’s resume.
Then again, when rumors of Anthony Davis forcing a switch to the New Orleans Pelicans began in 2019, the prospect of him ending up in the Lakers also looked like a long shot.
James signed with Purple and Gold until 2023. He probably won’t finish basketball at this point, as he said he wants to play long enough to be in the NBA at the same time as his son Bronny James.
The older James and the Lakers will face Curry’s Warriors tonight in Northern California.
