The New England Patriots made a big bang at the free agency on Monday, agreeing to deals with nine players, including edge rusher Matt Judon and tight end Jonnu Smith. A source confirmed the moves to The Athletic.
The Patriots and Judon agreed to a $ 56 million four-year contract. Judon, 28, has had 34.5 sacks in five seasons with the Ravens, including six in 2020.
New England also agreed to sign a $ 50 million four-year deal with Smith. The deal includes a guaranteed $ 31.25 million.
Smith, 25, joins the Patriots after a better season of his career with the Titans. He had 41 receptions, 448 yards and eight touchdowns in 2020.
Joining Smith in the attack were two wide receivers: Nelson Agholor has agreed to a $ 26 million two-year contract, and Kendrick Bourne will sign a three-year contract worth up to $ 22.5 million. Agholor had 896 receiving yards and eight touchdowns last season with the Raiders. Bourne had 667 receiving yards and two touchdowns for the 49ers, his fourth year with the team.
Among other deals, New England added defensive back Jalen Mills in a $ 24 million four-year deal, Davon Godchaux’s nose in a $ 16 million two-year deal and former Jets defensive striker Henry Anderson for two years and $ 11 million, including $ 4 million in incentives.
It was not that along the defensive line. The team also agreed to re-sign the defensive side Deatrich Wise Jr., who recorded 49 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2020, for $ 30 million in four years, and brought back the defensive tackle Carl Davis (terms not disclosed).
