Tom Brady has won more Super Bowl MVPs than any other player, but he is not the favorite for the Super Bowl LV prize.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the favorite to be elected this year’s Super Bowl MVP, listed at -120 in the Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill. Brady is next at +190.
Mahomes won the Super Bowl MVP last year when he was responsible for three scores, including two touchdown passes in the fourth period that helped the Chiefs overtake the San Francisco 49ers to a 31-20 victory in the Super Bowl LIV.
Brady was named MVP in four of his six Super Bowl wins, his last prize coming in 2017, when he helped the New England Patriots overcome a 28-3 handicap to defeat the Atlanta Falcons.
The winning team’s quarterback has won MVP 29 times, including in eight of the last 11 Super Bowls. But there are some intriguing game makers on both teams. Chiefs Tyreek Hill’s wide receiver and tight end Travis Kelce are 13-1. The corsairs’ running back, Leonard Fournette, is 25-1, followed by Kansas City’s Clyde Edwards-Helaire running back with 30-1.
Tampa Bay’s wide receivers, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, are 30-1 each. Corsair linebacker Shaquil Barrett and Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu have the best chances of all defenders 40-1.
The Super Bowl LV begins on February 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Chiefs are the consensus favorites of 3 points over Buccaneers.
