Patrick Mahomes paid tribute to GOAT after losing the 2021 Super Bowl.
“You are a legend, man,” Mahomes told Tom Brady after the Chiefs fell to the Buccaneers, 31-9, on Sunday.
Brady replied, “You are a stud, bro.”
The Super Bowl was heralded as an unmissable showdown between Brady, the 43-year-old ageless wonder, and Mahomes, the 25-year-old who some already consider one of the best defenders of all time.
But while Brady was doing his part, throwing 201 yards and three touchdowns on the way to winning his seventh Super Bowl record – more than any NFL franchise – and fifth MVP award, Mahomes threw two interceptions while the Chiefs were unable to score a touchdown .
The Big Game marked the second playoff encounter between the two quarterbacks, with Brady winning the first in the 2019 AFC championship.
After this game, Brady called Mahomes aside for an animated conversation.
Mahomes won the Super Bowl and the MVP award the following season.
