Patrick Mahomes leads Chiefs in a methodical launch attempt for a 1-yard touchdown race

The Chiefs achieved a 6-0 lead on the first try of the game, when Patrick Mahomes passed the ball 1 yard away. Mahomes could have launched the option for Darryl Williams, but he stayed and scored easily. Mahomes has now scored in each of the Chiefs’ last three postseason games since last season. Harrison Butker missed the extra point attempt.

It was Mahomes’ third consecutive playoff game with an accelerated touchdown, the longest streak of a quarterback since Steve Young in the 1994-95 postseason, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

After scoring, Mahomes threw the ball onto the upper deck.
