Patrick Mahomes launched a touchdown pass in 30 consecutive games, while the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback extended his long streak in the NFL with a three-yard pass to Mecole Hardman in the second quarter of the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills. Mahomes is the first defender since Andrew Luck to have a sequence of touchdown passes of 30 or more games, as Luck has had 33 consecutive games with a touchdown pass from 2015 to 2018.

Mahomes is only the 12th quarterback in NFL history, with 30 or more consecutive games with a touchdown pass (regular season and post-season). Drew Brees is the only defender to have done the feat twice, holding the NFL record of 60 straight games with a touchdown pass from 2009 to 2012 and also having a streak of 47 from 2012 to 2015.

Here are the 12 quarterbacks who launched a touchdown pass in 30 or more consecutive games:

  1. Drew Brees (Santos) – 60
  2. Peyton Manning (Colts, Broncos) – 56
  3. Johnny Unitas (Colts) – 49
  4. Drew Brees (Santos) – 47
  5. Brett Favre (Packers) – 39
  6. Tony Romo (Cowboys) – 38
  7. Tom Brady (Patriots) – 37
  8. Andrew Luck (Colts) – 33
  9. Matt Ryan (Falcons) – 33
  10. Dan Marino (dolphins) – 32
  11. Ben Roethlisberger (Steelers) – 31
  12. Philip Rivers (chargers) – 30
  13. Patrick Mahomes (bosses) – 30

Mahomes has 15 touchdown passes in his career postseason, which tied Kurt Warner in second place for a quarterback in his first four seasons in NFL history, behind Russell Wilson (16). He is the first defender to start three consecutive conference championship games in his first four seasons in the NFL.
