Patrick Adams, who married royalty on TV, defends Meghan Markle, who married British royalty

Everything I know about Meghan Markle and the royal family that I learned from Kayleigh, but I know a lot about Suits. I know that Suits more or less abandoned half of his premise – that Mike Ross of Patrick Adams had an insane photographic memory – early on, and the other half of the premise – that Mike Ross was practicing law without graduating in law – after Mike went to Prison ended up being reinstated to the California Bar Association, despite I haven’t attended law school yet)

The point, however, is that Mike Ross and Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle) were incredible Suits couple, and the two left the show together in 2017, when Markle married Henry David, aka Prince Harry. It has been chaotic for a few years for Markle, who has been attacked relentlessly and with racist venom by the British tabloid media. Meanwhile, the British Royal Family – also known as The Firm – is trying to destroy Markle’s reputation before an interview she will give Oprah.

Mike Ross, however, has seen enough, and he took Twitter to raise hell.

Meghan Markle and I spent most of a decade working together on Suits. From the first day she was an enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, generous, cheerful and supportive member of our television family. She remained that person and colleague according to the accumulated fame, prestige and power. She has always been a powerful woman with a deep sense of morality and a fierce work ethic and has never been afraid to speak, to be heard and to defend herself and her loved ones. Like the rest of the world, I have watched her navigate the past few years with astonishment. She fell in love, moved to a new country, became a household name all over the world and started the difficult job of trying to find her place in a family dynamic that can, at best, be described as complicated and, at worst, apparently archaic and toxic.

I was disgusted to read the endless racist, slanderous and anti-click vitriol thrown at you by all the media in the UK and the world, but I also knew that Meghan was stronger than people realized or understood and they would regret it to underestimate it. And then they welcomed Archie. And on any kind of decent planet, this would be the time to stop sharpening your knives and let these two people enjoy the magical first few months and years of starting a family. But we don’t live on that planet, and the hunt continued instead.

IT IS OBSCENE that the Royal Family, [whose] The newest member is currently GROWING INSIDE OF HER, promoting and amplifying accusations of “bullying” against a woman she herself was basically forced to [flee] United Kingdom to protect your family and your own mental health. IMO, this most recent chapter and its moment are just another striking example of the shame of an institution that has survived its relevance, is completely abandoned in credibility and apparently bankrupt in decency. Find someone else to warn, rebuke, and harass. My friend Meghan is out of your reach.

This is the kind of defense Mike Ross is known for, although he didn’t have the touch of a manila folder. Meanwhile, despite being a big fan of Suits and watching all nine seasons and 134 episodes (and even a few episodes of the bad spin-off), I didn’t know until today that Patrick Adams was married to Troian Bellisario, an actress known for Little liars, but better known for me as the daughter of Donald Bellisario – creator of Magnum PI, NCIS, Quantum leap, and NOTCH – and Deborah Pratt, the narrator and voice of “Ziggy” in Quantum leap.

In other words, Meghan Markle married British royalty, but Patrick Adams married television royalty, and his mother-in-law is Ziggy!
