Palantir, NRG Energy, Berkshire Hathaway: What to watch for when the stock market opens today

Government stock and bond futures soared On Monday, investors were waiting for a list of Federal Reserve speakers and data on the manufacturing sector.

Futures contracts linked to the S&P 500 rose 1.2% and Nasdaq-100 contracts increased 1.4%. The breakthrough came with 10-year Treasury bill yield, the benchmark borrowing cost in global debt markets, falling from 1.459% to 1.428% on Friday. Read our complete market package.

Gains are due Zoom Video Communications and Switch after closing.

IHS Markit’s US manufacturing index for February, due to 9:45 am ET, it is expected to remain stable at 58.5, unchanged since a preliminary reading. The Institute for Supply Management manufacturing index for February at 10 am is expected to rise to 58.9 from 58.7 a month earlier.

Construction spending in the USA for January, which expires at 10am, is expected to increase 0.8% over the previous month.
