The Green Bay Packers’ Divisional Playoff game at Lambeau Field will include ticket holders for the season, as well as invited frontline health workers and first responders, the organization announced on Thursday.
Season ticket holders who have opted for the opportunity to purchase tickets this summer will receive information about the sale this week by email. Tickets will go on sale online through Ticketmaster only on Tuesday, January 12, after the date and time of the divisional showdown is announced by the NFL. No tickets will go on sale at the Packers box office.
Approximately 6,000 tickets will be available for purchase by season ticket holders who have chosen to participate. Seats will be organized in socially distant groups of two, four and six tickets across the stadium. Prices, set by the NFL for playoff games, range from $ 127 to $ 177, based on location; a Ticketmaster service fee will also be charged. An additional number of guests will be present, including frontline guest health professionals and first responders, as well as a mandatory league quota for the visiting team.
Significantly, tickets cannot be resold or transferred and all tickets will be mobile. Season Ticket Holders who purchase tickets are responsible for coordinating all participants in their pod, since entry into the game will be through a mobile ticket reading on the buyer’s mobile device. No exception will be made to this policy. These measures were taken to ensure the safety of all participants in the game.
The plan for a larger number of participants is based on the successful COVID-19 protocols the team has used for its last four home games in the regular season. Season ticket holders are expected to participate in the game with members of their families. Club suites and seats will not be accessible for this game, as both areas use indoor spaces.
“Our players have enjoyed the energy provided by the limited fans we’ve had in the past four games. We look forward to welcoming our season ticket holders to add to that atmosphere in the playoffs,” said Packers President / CEO Mark Murphy. “We have seen our COVID-19 protocols in action and we are confident that we can safely add additional fans.”
The team was coached by health partner Bellin Health, as well as Brown County Public Health employees, to implement full protocols that have been implemented for the team’s guests during the last four home games of the regular season. The protocols used at Lambeau Field and across the NFL have proven to be effective, as no local COVID-19 case sets have been tracked for NFL games according to the relevant health departments in NFL cities. During the regular season, the NFL had a total of 109 games with over 1 million fans in attendance.
The protocols used at Lambeau Field include the requirement that participants remain within their “set” of socially distant seats, unless they use the bathroom or buy food or drinks. Other protocols include the use of mobile tickets as a method of entry, improved cleaning measures at the stadium, hand sanitizer stations throughout the lobby, cashless concession venues and necessary facial coatings. Unauthorized use in Lambeau Field parking lots will also be prohibited for playoff games. No transport items, including backrests, transparent bags or bags, are permitted. A small bag for personal belongings is allowed, but must not exceed 4.5 ” x 6.5 ” in size.
Those who are feeling bad or that a member of their family is sick (or quarantined) will be asked not to buy tickets. Those who have recently been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 are also asked not to attend. In addition, those who buy tickets must self-assess the symptoms of COVID-19 before the game.
