And it won’t take long in terms of results to do that.
The way forward for Week 16 is simple for Packers – wait for the right outcome during an important opening game and then defeat the Tennessee Titans in Sunday Night Football.
Packers can win seed # 1 with the following two results:
– Los Angeles Rams wins (or ties) against Seattle Seahawks
– Packers win against the Titans
The Rams and Seahawks play in Seattle starting at 15:25 CT on Sunday. The Packers will receive the Titans at Lambeau Field at 7:15 pm CT. Before the kickoff, Matt LaFleur’s team will know if they can conquer the first seed by defeating the Titans.
The Chicago Bears, which will welcome Packers to Soldier Field at the end of the season next Sunday, remains on the hunt for the final playoff spot on the NFC. They play against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but cannot guarantee a place in the playoffs or be eliminated this week, meaning that next week will be important for Matt Nagy’s team. Regardless of what happens in Week 16, Packers can guarantee seed # 1 by defeating the Bears next week.
