Packers list RB Jamaal Williams as doubtful for Week 16 vs. Titans

Green Bay Packers debutant AJ Dillon may have his biggest opportunity at the NFL level on Sunday night against the Tennessee Titans.

The Packers listed the running back Jamaal Williams (quad) as doubtful for Week 16, probably stealing Matt LaFleur from his complementary running back alongside Aaron Jones and giving Dillon – the team’s choice in the second round – a chance to contribute from significantly during a primetime showdown against one of the best AFC teams.

Dillon, who lost five games while on the COVID-19 reserve list, was transported 24 times for 115 yards during the 2020 season. He hasn’t loaded more than five times in a single game yet, but his workload may increase significantly since it is the most likely number 2 of the attack on Sunday night.

An important player, Williams injured his leg after catching the Carolina Panthers and did not return. He was unable to participate during this week’s training.

The Packers also ruled out the tight end Jace Sternberger (concussion) and safety Will Redmond (concussion) and considered playmaker Simon Stepaniak (knee) in doubt.

Despite a list of injuries with 20 players over the week, the Packers did not give an injury designation to 16 players, meaning that all 16 will play on Sunday.

The Titans ruled out linebacker Derick Roberson, but removed 12 other players from the injury report.
