P Pat O’Donnell agrees to the terms of the one-year contract extension with the Chicago Bears

One of the most experienced players on the list, O’Donnell returns for an eighth season with the Bears. Since arriving in 2014 as a sixth-round pick for the Miami draft, he has appeared in 111 of 112 possible games, losing a contest in 2015. O’Donnell holds franchise records of all time with a gross average of 45, 0 yards and 39.7 net yardage and his 181 punts within the 20 seconds of classification in the team’s history.

Last season, his gross average of 45.7 yards was the second highest of his career and he achieved a career high with 28 punts out of 20, drawing third in the NFL.

O’Donnell is one of three Bears players with a contract for the 2021 season who originally joined the club before Ryan Pace was hired as general manager in 2015. The other two were also part of the team’s recruiting class in 2014: first round cornerback Kyle Fuller and seventh round tackle Charles Leno Jr.
