OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 1 now available for OnePlus 7 / 7T

After what seemed like a long wait, OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 1 is now being released for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series bringing with it all the traps and features of Android 11.

OnePlus confirmed that we would see OxygenOS 11 in the OnePlus 7 and 7T series sometime in the first quarter of 2021, and the credit due, the Chinese company delivered. Both updates for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series were announced in two separate posts on the official OnePlus forums – to the delight of fans and waiting owners.

Now, this is not a complete release, as the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 1 for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series is still a beta version, after all. However, given that this is essentially the same basic build found on the OnePlus Nord, OnePlus 8 and 8T series, the bugs are likely to be minimal. We have already taken a deeper dive into our favorite features of OxygenOS 11 – which includes several of the new features found in the full and extensive changelog for the two devices below:

However, there are some known issues for those who wish to install OxygenOS 11 and Android 11 on their OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T or 7T Pro. OnePlus has confirmed that power consumption can be affected with this beta, while the application OnePlus Gallery may have some loading problems, automatic screen brightness adjustments may also be delayed or appear vague.

It is highly recommended to back up your device and all important files and information before attempting to install this version based on Android 11 on your device. It is also important to use only the correct links for your device, which means that you must use the links based on your specific region. OnePlus has temporarily removed OxygenOS 11 .zip files due to device wipe problems occurring on OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro hardware – OnePlus 7 Pro devices are not affected.

Expect more updates before a stable release for both devices in the coming months.
