OWC unveils two new multiport docks for Macs and PCs

In addition to a 2,800 MB / s SSD, OWC also announced two new docks for Mac and PC: the USB-C Travel Dock E and the new Thunderbolt Dock. The former is designed to make travel connectivity options more robust, while the latter will add more options to your desktop’s permanent configuration.

OWC Travel Dock E

The Travel Dock E USB-C claims to reduce the hassle of the adapter while compacting the size of dongle hubs into a hockey puck-sized solution. It contains six ports: USB 3 Type-A, HDMI 2.0, SD card reader, gigabit ethernet and USB-C with 100W power pass. It is based on the OWC Travel Dock and maintains the five ports offered there while adding the Gigabit Ethernet port, which appears to be the main selling point of this product compared to the original.

If you are looking for a travel dock that offers an Ethernet port for your laptop that is now too narrow to allow such a port to be integrated, the OWC seems to have it all for you. Travel Dock E adds a $ 10 prize to the $ 55 price of the original Travel Dock, so you’ll have to pay a little more to get that additional door. The Travel Dock E is now available for $ 65.

OWC Thunderbolt Dock

If you are looking for a hub to manage all your thunderbolt and USB devices on your home desktop, the OWC Thunderbolt Dock is a solid solution. If you depend on a Thunderbolt ecosystem, this dock has a lot to offer.

Altogether, the Thunderbolt Dock offers 11 ports in total: four thunderbolt ports, four USB ports, an SD card reader, gigabit ethernet and combo audio input / output. The dock allows access to all of these ports via a single cable from a Mac or PC.

“Using the latest Thunderbolt technology, the OWC Thunderbolt Dock allows users with Intel 11th Gen Core and Evo PCs with Thunderbolt 4, existing Macs or new M1-based Macs to add a combination of ports, including additional Thunderbolt ports,” says company.

The biggest selling point of the OWC Thunderbolt Dock is access to these four Thunderbolt ports, which also support USB devices and monitors, while offering 90W of power.

The OWC Thunderbolt Dock is available immediately for $ 250.
