Overview of the series against South Carolina

Texas Longhorns followed after consecutive wins against the Houston Cougars and Sam Houston State Bearkats last week with a series of three games against the undefeated South Carolina Gamecocks.

Not only did Texas beat a ranked team (No. 8 at the time), the Longhorns impressively won all three games against the Gamecocks last weekend in Austin.

Texas ace Ty Madden placed himself among the NCAA’s best pitchers and a Longhorn freshman got his first hit of the season in a big moment.

If the Longhorns manage to bring that momentum to the big 12 game, they can compete with Texas Tech, TCU and Oklahoma State for the conference title this season.

Here is an overview of the South Carolina series as the team prepares for a game match against the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. The first pitch is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:30 pm CST on the Longhorn Network.

Texan pitcher Ty Madden was the star of the game, throwing five kills in 7.0 innings, which placed him among the leaders of college baseball.

What should not be disregarded is another great tour by Zach Zubia. He came with the clutch when the game was tied at 1 to 1 at the time. Zubia scored a two-race double at the end of the eighth round, placing Texas in the top 3-1 in what would become the difference in the game.

Peyton Powell’s first blow of the season came at the bottom of the fifth inning to break the 0-0 draw, but that was not the only long ball in the inning.

Mitchell Daly hit a race home run after Powell to increase the 2-0 lead in the game with few goals. Tristan Stevens got his first win on the mound, throwing 6.0 entries while throwing five eliminations and giving up just five hits and no runs.

This was the only game to feature home runs for the Longhorns, although it was the lowest scoring game of the weekend.

Bats were flying in the third game. Nine different Longhorns recorded at least one hit, while Eric Kennedy and Ivan Melendez had two hits each and scored three combined runs.

Tanner Witt took the win after throwing 3.0 entries with six eliminations and two runs. Kolby Kubichek pitched 4.0 innings for five strikeouts, while giving up five hits with relief.

The fourth entry was the most active entry in Texas, marking four of his races that were highlighted by a two-race duo from DJ Petrinsky. This not only gave the Longhorns victory, but the series swept away a team that entered the series without losing.
