Wednesday, February 3 is National Signature Day. While some high-profile prospects will let the world know where they are going, most recruits in the 2021 class finalized things with the school of their choice during the initial hiring period in December.
Alabama is expected to finish its 2021 recruitment with the best class ever, as Nick Saban’s group can score north of 325 points in the 247Sports Composite generated by the industry. Right behind them in the ranking is Ohio State, which just played Crimson Tide for a national title. In third place is Georgia, which signed class number 1 in 2020. In fourth place is LSU, with Clemson one position behind them, in fifth place in the ranking.
It is not surprising to see these five college football powers leading the way in this cycle, when it comes to ratings, as often the best kids want to play in the best shows. That’s why we at 247Sports wanted to highlight something else as we closed the door on the 2021 class – gifted and weak.
These are schools that have exceeded expectations during a recruitment cycle like no other or have fallen short of what their fan base expected. All classifications are made through the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings and updated on the date of publication on Tuesday afternoon.
