It appears that the launch of Oculus Quest 2 was a boon for the developers of Facebook and Quest, as the company’s latest standalone VR headset has brought the number of apps that earn more than $ 1 million for more than 60 games now .
Facebook announced in September that more than 35 apps on the Oculus Store for Quest generated more than $ 1 million, representing more than $ 150 million in app sales. That figure shows the popularity of the original Quest, which was critically acclaimed when it launched in May 2019.
Then Quest 2 launched in October 2020, and the valiant $ 300 standalone appears to have significantly accelerated app sales.
Facebook released a rough analysis of how many applications not only exceeded that $ 1 million milestone, but also started to generate more than $ 10 million in revenue. Here is the chart below, shared by Mike Verdu, vice president of product at Oculus, in a company blog post.

It’s an incredible number, but what’s more incredible is that now one in three paid apps on the Oculus Store for Quest is generating more than $ 1 million in revenue, reveals Verdu.
Some of Quest’s most profitable titles include Beat Saber, Forward, and Population: One, all of which generated more than $ 10 million in revenue. Verdu does not offer a more detailed analysis, although we can bet that some of the regular faces in our monthly report on the best and most rated Quest apps will appear on the list.
