Square Enix announced earlier this week that more than 5,000 Final Fantasy XIV players were banned after being caught using or advertising real money in the game.

As seen by PCGamesN, on March 4 FFXIV publisher Square Enix revealed through a news in the FFXIV location on the Internet network that 5851 players were banned for their involvement in real money transactions or other “prohibited activities. ” 5037 players were banned for participating directly in real money negotiations. Meanwhile, another 814 players were banned for simply announcing real money transactions.

According to Square Enix using real money in the game for trading or other activities is prohibited under the terms of service, which players agree to before creating an account. Even announcing Or just trying using real money is bad enough that Square Enix is going to bring down the hammer. All of these prohibitions took place between February 25 and March 3.

This is not the first time Square Enix has revealed a massive wave of banning accounts. In 2019, the publisher banned more than 10,000 players for similar violations of real money trading.
