LAKELAND, Florida – (BUSINESS WIRE) – As of Friday, March 26, scheduling opportunity, eligible individuals – now including individuals aged 40 and over – can use Publix’s online booking system to book appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations in Florida stores Publix participating pharmacies starting Monday, March 29. Individuals can find out which additional groups are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by visiting the Florida Department of Health website.
Under guidance from the federal government, retailers participating in the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program should continue to prioritize the following individuals for vaccine appointments until further notice:

Teachers, school staff and caregivers of children working in pre-primary, primary and secondary schools, as well as Head Start and Early Head Start programs (including teachers, staff and bus drivers).

Those who work as or for licensed child care providers, including home and family care providers.
After those in the prioritized group have finished making appointments, all remaining appointments will be available to other eligible individuals. Appointments to receive second doses are not affected by this change.
Commitments
Vaccines are provided only by appointment, while supplies last, through the online reservation system at publix.com/covidvaccine. Appointments cannot be made by calling Publix or Publix Pharmacy.
The online reservation system will open on Friday, March 26, at 7 am Eastern Time, for anyone who meets state and federal requirements.
Eligible individuals can plan access to the online reservation system to make appointments as follows, as long as Publix continues to receive doses of vaccine and except in unforeseen circumstances. Appointments may not be available in all counties during all scheduling opportunities:

Clients with an appointment for the second dose of Moderna vaccine are not affected by any change in scheduling opportunities and must arrive at the COVID-19 vaccine check-in area on the scheduled date and time.
Necessary documentation
Adults who are only eligible based on the state’s criteria for being extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 must provide the completed and signed form found on the Florida Department of Health website or the documentation signed by a doctor certifying that they meet the criteria eligibility criteria.
Locations
Publix administers vaccine in all 43 Florida counties with Publix Pharmacy locations. Publix pharmacies also administered the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible individuals in selected locations in Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Costs and insurance
Vaccines are provided to eligible individuals, by appointment only, while supplies last, and at no cost to the individual. Customers with health insurance must bring their insurance card to the scheduled appointment. Medicare members must bring their red, white and blue Medicare Part B card. Customers without health insurance will need to provide their driver’s license or Social Security number.
