The Utah pandemic “final” bill, formally known as House Bill 294, requires that all state and local health orders related to COVID-19 end on the day Utah reaches the limit on three main metrics: the rate 14-day cases in the state is less than 191 per 100,000 people, the average seven-day use of the COVID-19 intensive care unit is less than 15%, and 1,633,000 primary doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been allocated to Utah.

On Tuesday, Utah is reaching the limit in the first two measurements. The rate of cases in 14 days is reported at 176.7 and the average use of the ICU of COVID-19 in the last seven days is about 9.3%. Last week, Utah had received only 920,515 doses of primary vaccines.

The initial doses refer to the first dose of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, and the only dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The allocation of the main dose is updated only once a week, and the allocation is expected to reach the limit of 1,633,000 in the second or third week of May, according to health officials.
