SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Department of Health’s COVID-19 report on Thursday shows an increase of 2,892 confirmed cases – bringing the state total to 260,589 – and nine additional deaths.
So far, UDOH has received confirmation that 14,822 doses of COVID-19 vaccination have been administered in Utah.
“As soon as people in Utah start receiving their second dose of the vaccine, UDOH will also report the total number of people vaccinated,” says the report.
The seven-day continuous average for positive state tests is 2,379 per day, and the seven-day continuous average for the positive test percentage is 24.
561 people in Utah are hospitalized with COVID-19.
1,204 people in Utah died of COVID-19.
The nine deaths reported on Thursday are:
Five males:
- between 45-64, Davis County resident, hospitalized at the time of death
- between 65-84, resident of Salt Lake County, not hospitalized
- between 65-84, resident of Salt Lake County, not hospitalized
- over 85 years old, resident in Salt Lake County, hospitalized at the time of death
- over 85 years old, resident in Utah County, resident in long-term care institution
Four women:
- between 65-84, a resident of Salt Lake County, hospitalized at the time of death
- between 65-84, a resident of Salt Lake County, hospitalized at the time of death
- between 25-55, Utah County resident, hospitalized at death
- between 45-64, resident of Weber County, hospitalized at the time of death
UDOH will not release a COVID-19 report on Christmas Day.
