JACKSONVILLE, Florida. – More than two dozen windows have been smashed at the United States Postal Monument Station on Fort Caroline Road and shards of glass remain scattered outside the building.
Almost all windows are broken @USPS at Fort Caroline Road. The glass is broken. A broken glass door is looking big enough for someone to enter. It is not clear whether the vandals escaped anything. A sign posted: visit our post office at Merrill Road / Beach blvd @ wjxt4 pic.twitter.com/Jkh49dJe3r

A broken glass door is big enough for someone to enter.
After breaking it, it seems that the vandals entered the building because the glass also shattered inside. It is not known if they escaped anything.
The door was taped shut and a sign directs customers to two other locations for the post office business, but there were no police officers guarding the building without security.
A contractor was seen measuring the windows and told News4Jax that the teams will be out at some point today putting plywood to replace the broken windows.
JSO records show that police responded to the post for vandalism at 8 pm on Wednesday.
A USPS inspector sent News4Jax this statement: “The United States Postal Inspection Service has responded and is conducting an investigation into the vandalism incident that occurred at the USPS-Monument Station on the night of December 30, 2020,” said Adam Schaefer , United States Postal Inspector. “We ask that anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information about any potential suspects, contact the United States Postal Inspection Service at 877-876-2455.”
Schaefer told News4Jax that they currently have no surveillance videos to share.
News4Jax contacted JSO for more information.
