A Spanish streamer called “TheGrefg” has just broken Twitch records for as many viewers at the same time, with more than 2.4 million simultaneous viewers at one point on Monday afternoon.

“TheGrefg”, whose real name is David Cánovas Martínez, was debuting his new skin in the popular game “Fortnite”.

The new skin is part of the “Icon Series” of “Fortnite” skins, which includes other famous streamers – such as Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, Lachlan Ross Power and Kathleen “Loserfruit” Belsten – that players can use in the game.

This is what the skin looks like:

Previous Twitch records for simultaneous viewers were set by the aforementioned Ninja, who also broadcasts “Fortnite”, as well as less likely sources – such as Congressman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and NASA.

TheGrefg started receiving praise from other streamers, even while his stream was still in progress.

“2.4 million live viewers at Fortnite skin debut! Congratulations @TheGrefg,” said the ninja. “Absolute monster and you deserve it.” Mark Reins, vice president of Epic Games, the company that makes “Fortnite”, was also watching. “Unbelievable! We love our Spanish community @FortniteGame !!” he said.

Twitch representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
