If there’s anything we’ve learned this year, that’s it: 2020 goes 2020.
It was a year that left us perplexed by the COVID-19 pandemic, civil and political unrest, natural disasters and much more. For many of us, all we could do was let go of the wheel, grit our teeth and move on.
But during turbulence and uncertainty, we get even better at one of humanity’s greatest pastimes – distracting and numbing ourselves from the slap in the face of reality. And there’s no better way to shake up the afternoon – or, in terms of 2020, waiting in line to buy toilet paper in bulk at the supermarket – than Instagram. Probably you, like us, spent noticeably more time on the app this year than last year.
