Oscar lists revealed: international feature, documentary and more

“Another Round” is cut for the Feature Film International, while “Tempo” falls in the race for Best Documentary.

The path to the 2021 Oscar reached an important milestone today with the announcement of nine lists for the following categories: International Feature Film, Documentary, Original Soundtrack, Original Song, Makeup and Hairstyle, Visual Effects, Live-Action Short Film , Subject Documentary Short and Animation Short. As in previous years, Academy members will select from these short lists of candidates in each category the nominees for the 2021 Oscars. This year marked the third consecutive year, the Academy launched nine of its lists on the same day.

Oscar nominations for 2021 will be announced on Monday, March 15, ahead of the 93rd Oscar broadcast on Sunday, April 25. The Academy postponed the ceremony this year in the wake of the COVID pandemic. Movies that were created for a theatrical release, but targeted for streaming and / or PVOD are instead eligible for Oscar consideration. The Oscar deadline for launch eligibility is February 28, 2021.
