Some of the stars who started their day on Monday knowing that they received an Oscar nomination are speaking out before the 93rd edition of the Oscars.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas announced the London nominees. Movie stars like the late Chadwick Boseman, Viola Davis and director Chloé Zhao received historical nominations in their respective categories in a year marked by the coronavirus pandemic.
Many of the celebrities who were nominated were eager to express their shock and gratitude throughout the day, as the excitement over the morning’s announcement began.
“I’m calling all my friends, including you, just to make sure I’m not dreaming. It’s too early here, so there’s a chance …” Leslie Odom Jr. told the presenters on the “Today” Show. The actor was nominated for the best supporting actor award for his role as Sam Cooke in “One Night in Miami”.

In a statement to TheWrap, Glenn Close shared his gratitude for being nominated for his role in Ron Howard’s film “Elegia Caipira”.
