Delay in processing lab results reduces case count, says OHA
PORTLAND, Oregon. (KTVZ) – COVID-19 claimed an additional 12 lives in Oregon, increasing the death toll in the state to 1,415, along with 871 new cases, the Oregon Health Authority reported on Thursday.
The OHA reported 871 new confirmed and presumed cases of COVID-19 at 12:01 pm on Thursday, bringing the state total to 106,821 cases, along with 2,389,013 negative test results.
Vaccinations in Oregon
OHA is providing weekday updates on doses administered for COVID-19 vaccines in Oregon on its vaccination data panel.
On Wednesday, 2,794 doses of the vaccine were administered, increasing the total number of first doses of the vaccine in the state to 14,524. All vaccinations took place in Oregon hospitals and long-term care facilities.
COVID-19 Hospitalizations
The number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Oregon is 495, 32 fewer than on Wednesday.
There are 101 patients with COVID-19 in beds in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), eight fewer than on Wednesday.
The total number of patients in hospital beds can fluctuate between reporting times. The figures do not reflect hospitalizations per day, nor the length of stay. Personnel limitations are not captured in this data and can further limit the capacity of beds.

The death of 1,404th COVID-19 in Oregon was an 89-year-old woman in Multnomah County who tested positive on December 17 and died on December 23 at the Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center. The presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed.
The death of 1,405th COVID-19 in Oregon was that of a 90-year-old man in Clackamas County who tested positive on December 16 and died on December 22 at his home. The gender is being confirmed and the presence of underlying diseases is being confirmed.
The death of 1,406th COVID-19 in Oregon was that of a 55-year-old man in Clatsop County who tested positive on December 17 and died on December 23 at Pacific Seaside Hospital. He had no underlying conditions.
The death of 1,407th COVID-19 in Oregon was a 59-year-old man in Hood River County who tested positive on December 3 and died at his home. The date of death and the presence of underlying diseases are being confirmed.
COVID-19’s 1,408th death in Oregon was an 85-year-old woman in Jackson County, who tested positive on November 10 and died on December 22 at her home. She had underlying conditions.
The death of 1,409th COVID-19 in Oregon was a 58-year-old man in Klamath County who tested positive on November 19 and died on December 20 at Sky Lakes Medical Center. He had underlying conditions.
COVID-19’s 1,410th death in Oregon was a 66-year-old man in Malheur County, who tested positive on December 7 and died on December 21 at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. The presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed.
COVID-19’s 1,411th death in Oregon was an 87-year-old woman in Marion County who tested positive on November 30 and died on December 20 at her home. She had underlying conditions.
COVID-19’s 1,412th death in Oregon was an 88-year-old woman in Marion County who tested positive on December 3 and died on December 19 at her home. She had underlying conditions.
COVID-19’s 1,413th death in Oregon was a 92-year-old woman in Multnomah County who tested positive on December 10 and died on December 10. The place of death is being confirmed. She had underlying conditions.
COVID-19’s 1,414th death in Oregon was a 72-year-old woman in Umatilla County who tested positive on November 28 and died on December 18 at the St. Mary Medical Center. The presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed.
COVID-19’s 1,415th death in Oregon was a 62-year-old woman in Yamhill County who tested positive on December 14 and died on December 18 at her home. The presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed.
