Oregon reports 10 more deaths from COVID-19, including Jefferson County’s 21st death

Woman, 73, died Saturday in St. Charles Bend, had underlying diseases

PORTLAND, Oregon. (KTVZ) – COVID-19 claimed an additional 10 lives in Oregon, including the 21st death in Jefferson County, bringing the state’s death toll to 1,613, the Oregon Health Authority said on Monday.

The OHA also reported 939 new confirmed and presumed cases of COVID-19 at 12:01 am on Monday, bringing the state total to 126,607.

Vaccinations in Oregon

On Monday, 7,585 new doses of COVID-19 vaccines were added to the state’s immunization record. Of that total, 5,422 doses of the vaccine were administered on Sunday and 2,163 were administered in the previous days, but entered the vaccine record on Sunday.

Oregon has administered a cumulative total of 104,595 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. All vaccinations took place in Oregon hospitals, long-term care facilities, emergency medical service agencies, urgent care facilities and local public health officials.

The St. Charles Health System reported 4,493 Pfizer-BioNTech vaccinations given Monday morning.

To date, 270,800 doses of the vaccine have been delivered to locations across Oregon.

COVID-19 Hospitalizations

The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 across Oregon is 409, six more than on Sunday. There are 84 patients with COVID-19 in intensive care unit (ICU) beds, which represents no change from Sunday.

The St. Charles Health System notified 36 patients with COVID-19 on Monday morning, seven in the ICU, five of them on ventilators.

The total number of patients in hospital beds can fluctuate between reporting times. The figures do not reflect hospitalizations per day, nor the length of stay. Personnel limitations are not captured in this data and can further limit the capacity of beds.

note: The deaths of 1,200 and 1,237 COVID-19 from Oregon, reported on December 15 and 16, respectively, are the same person. Oregon’s 1,186 and 1,031 deaths, reported on December 15 and 6, respectively, are also from the same person. The figures have been adjusted accordingly.

COVID-19’s 1,604th death in Oregon was a 73-year-old woman in Jefferson County, who tested positive on December 25 and died on January 9 in St. Charles Bend. She had underlying conditions.

COVID-19’s 1,605th death in Oregon was a 57-year-old woman in Lane County, who tested positive on December 18 and died on January 9 at Oregon Health & Science University. She had underlying conditions.

COVID-19’s 1,606th death in Oregon was an 88-year-old man in Lane County who tested positive on December 23 and died on January 7 at the PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center in Riverbend. He had underlying conditions.

COVID-19’s 1,607th death in Oregon was a 53-year-old man in Lane County, who tested positive on December 28 and died on January 8 at the PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center in Riverbend. He had underlying conditions.

COVID-19’s 1,608th death in Oregon was a 91-year-old man in Multnomah County who tested positive on December 13 and died on December 21 at his home. He had underlying conditions.

COVID-19’s 1,609th death in Oregon was a 91-year-old woman in Multnomah County who tested positive on December 3 and died on December 11 at her home. She had underlying conditions.

COVID-19’s 1,610th death in Oregon was a 74-year-old woman in Multnomah County who tested positive on December 18 and died on December 30 at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center. She had underlying conditions.

COVID-19’s 1,611th death in Oregon was a 95-year-old woman in Multnomah County who tested positive on January 1 and died on January 8 at Adventist Hospital. She had underlying conditions.

COVID-19’s 1,612th death in Oregon was a 93-year-old woman in Multnomah County who tested positive on December 15 and died on January 2 at her home. She had underlying conditions.

COVID-19’s 1,613th death in Oregon was a 98-year-old woman in Washington County who tested positive on December 29 and died on January 4 at her home. She had underlying conditions.
