Oregon Health Authority reports 3 more deaths from COVID-19, 666 new cases

PORTLAND, Oregon. (KTVZ) – COVID-19 claimed three more lives in Oregon, increasing the death toll in the state to 1,803, the Oregon Health Authority said on Monday.

The OHA also reported 666 new confirmed and presumed cases of COVID-19 at 12:01 am on Monday, bringing the state total to 133,851.

Vaccinations in Oregon

On Monday, OHA is reporting that 11,951 new doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been added to the state’s immunization registry. Of that total, 8,409 doses of the vaccine were administered on Sunday.

Oregon has administered a cumulative total of 216,925 first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. All vaccinations took place in Oregon hospitals, long-term care facilities, emergency medical service (EMS) agencies, urgent care facilities and local public health officials.

To date, 335,075 doses of the vaccine have been delivered to locations across Oregon.

These data are preliminary and are subject to change. OHA panels provide regularly updated vaccination data and the Oregon panel was updated on Monday.

The St. Charles Health System reported giving 7,612 Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines on Monday morning.

COVID-19 Hospitalizations

The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 across Oregon is 342, 19 less than on Sunday. There are 94 patients with COVID-19 in intensive care unit (ICU) beds, one less than on Sunday.

The total number of patients in hospital beds can fluctuate between reporting times. The figures do not reflect hospitalizations per day, nor the length of stay. Personnel limitations are not captured in this data and can further limit the capacity of beds.

St. Charles Bend reported 30 COVID-19 patients by 4 am on Monday, six of whom were in the ICU, five on ventilators.

The new confirmed and presumed COVID-19 cases reported on Monday are in the following counties: Benton (10), Clackamas (57), Columbia (6), Coos (1), Crook (9), Deschutes (51), Douglas (11), Hood River (3), Jackson (40), Jefferson (2), Josephine (9), Lake (1), Lane (81), Lincoln (5), Linn (8), Malheur (4), Marion (79), Morrow (6), Multnomah (140), Polk (9), Umatilla (29), Wasco (10), Washington (87), Yamhill (8).

The 1801st death of COVID-19 in Oregon was a 90-year-old woman in Lane County who tested positive on January 4 and died on January 8 at her home. She had underlying conditions.

The 1802 death of COVID-19 in Oregon was a 55-year-old man in Marion County, who tested positive on December 27 and died on January 16 at Salem Hospital. He had underlying conditions.

The 1803 death of COVID-19 in Oregon was a 99-year-old woman in Multnomah County who tested positive on January 3 and died on January 15 at her home. She had underlying conditions.
