Order of 7 rounds of the 2021 NFL draft: full list of 6 Detroit Lions picks

On Friday night, the NFL released its official list of picks for the seven rounds of the NFL’s 2021 Draft.

Detroit Lions currently have six choices for the April draft, as expected, but the NFL has clarified some remaining questions about where Lions will choose.

First, it was recently revealed that the 2021 choice for the third round of the Los Angeles Rams that Lions received in exchange for Matthew Stafford was one of their two conditional choices for the third round. This choice turned out to be choice 101, the first of its two conditional choices (the other being 103).

Second, many were wondering what the Everson Griffen exchange would end up costing Lions. It was reported to be a conditional choice for the sixth round that could be a choice for the fifth round if conditions were met. It turns out that this choice remained a sixth round choice, leaving Lions with their original fifth round choice still in hand.

Here is a complete list of the Lions’ six picks in the NFL’s 2021 Draft.

  1. Round 1, choose 7:
  2. Round 2, choose 9, 41st overall
  3. Round 3, choose 8, 72 overall
  4. Round 3, choose 24, 101st overall (via Rams)
  5. Round 4, choose 7, 112th overall
  6. Round 5, choose 9, 153rd overall
  • No choice in the sixth round due to Griffen (Cowboys) switching
  • No choice in the seventh round due to the Quandre Diggs (Seahawks) trade

If you’re wondering why Lions don’t have the seventh choice in each round, it’s because they ended up with the same record as the Panthers and Broncos. While the Lions “won” the tie to have the best choice in the first round, the three teams alternate in subsequent rounds.
