Online Films Critics Society Names ‘Nomadland’ Best Film – Deadline

The Online Film Critics Society (OFCS) revealed its annual list of the top ten, as well as the winners of its film awards, which was led by Nomadland. In addition, The Chloé Zhao American Wanderlust Drama was named Best Picture. Also on the list is Pixar’s Soul which was also elected the Best Animated Film.

“This list of nominations shows the diversity and broad expressiveness of the film community,” said Wesley Lovell, member of the OFCS Steering Committee and founder of CinemaSight.com. “In a year when nothing went as we expected and those expectations had to change, cinema not only maintained its creativity and expansive screen, but also gave new voices the chance to speak louder than any other year.

AFI’s list of films of the year highlights diversity as Netflix leads all distributors with record-breaking streamer displays

He added: “In our management category alone, we have four women, each at different times in their careers, alongside one of the main voices of their generation. It is one of our most diverse slates of all time. As for those nominated for Best Picture, the feature films represent filmmakers from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences who are able to explore subjects that exemplify the breadth of American life in unique and attractive ways. I don’t think we could be more proud of the selections that our members made this year. “
