  • OnePlus announced a launch schedule and phones eligible for Oxygen OS 11.
  • The open beta update based on Android 11 will arrive on OnePlus Nord this week.
  • The company will also update the OnePlus 6 and all later models with the latest software.

Over the weekend, OnePlus released a forum post about when it plans to release the latest Oxygen OS 11 update for its phones. The software based on Android 11 is currently available on OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8 series and, according to the company, will soon be implemented on existing and older phones – in this case, OnePlus 6 and later models.

The first in line to receive Oxygen OS 11 this month will be the OnePlus Nord. The phone was updated to Oxygen OS 10.5.10 last week and OnePlus says it will launch the first open beta version of Android 11 for him later this week. There is still no timetable for when the stable release will follow, but the company says it will conduct gradual releases after collecting feedback from beta users.

Many users of OnePlus 7 and 7T are also eagerly awaiting the update of Android 11. OnePlus previously confirmed for Android Authority which would arrive on the phones before the end of 2020. However, the company now says it has encountered a data encryption problem when porting the update to the phones. That said, he worked with Qualcomm to resolve the issue and hopes to launch the first open beta of Oxygen OS 11 for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series shortly after the completion of the closed beta test in progress.

As for OnePlus 6, Oxygen OS 11 will be its third biggest Android update. The phone was released with Android 8.1 Oreo pre-installed and should only receive two major updates, so it’s nice to see that OnePlus is offering users an extra update.

The OnePlus 6T, on the other hand, came with Android Pie out of the box and therefore was already in line to get Android 11. Finally, OnePlus Nord N10 and N100 are also in line to receive the software. The phone manufacturer says it will share more details about the update schedule for these phones at a later date.
