OnePlus presents plans to update OnePlus 6 and later models to Android 11

OnePlus’ latest flagship, the OnePlus 8T, was released running Android 11 and OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro were updated to OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11 in October. The company now revealed its plans for the rest of the eligible models, as detected by android life.

The update schedule may vary for Verizon, T-Mobile and EE models

The Chinese manufacturer will begin launching the first version of the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta for OnePlus Nord next week. It will use user feedback to fix any bugs before the public release. The deployment will be staged and the schedule may vary for variants locked by the operator. The company says it will work closely with telecom operators to send updates ‘as early as possible’.
Then it will be the turn of the OnePlus 7 and 7T series. They should have been updated to the latest version of the Android operating system last month, but the company found some data decryption problems. OnePlus worked with Qualcomm to resolve the issue and is now running a closed Beta test. That done, the first OxygenOS 11 Open Beta will be released.
OnePlus also plans to bring the OnePlus 6 and 6T, and Nord 10 5G and 100 to Android 11 eventually, but has not released a schedule for these devices.
